How to Become a CCBA Professional

To become a CCBA professional, follow these steps:

  1. Register an Account with IIBA:

    • Create an account with the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). If you are already a member, log in to your existing account.

  2. Meet the Experience Requirements:

    • Complete a minimum of 3,750 hours of Business Analysis work experience in the last 7 years.

    • Within these 3,750 hours, a minimum of 900 hours must be completed in each of 2 of the 6 BABOK® Guide Knowledge Areas OR a minimum of 500 hours must be completed in each of 4 of the 6 BABOK® Guide Knowledge Areas.

  3. Complete Professional Development Hours:

    • Complete a minimum of 21 hours of Professional Development within the last 4 years.

  4. Provide References:

    • Submit references who can verify your business analysis experience and competencies.

  5. Agree to the Code of Conduct:

    • Review and agree to adhere to the IIBA Code of Conduct, ensuring you maintain professional standards and ethics.

  6. Agree to the Terms and Conditions:

    • Review and accept the IIBA Terms and Conditions.

  7. Pass the Exam:

    • Prepare for and pass the CCBA exam, which consists of 130 multiple choice scenario-based questions formulated from the BABOK® Guide. The exam must be completed within 3 hours.

    • The CCBA exam consists of 130 multiple choice scenario-based questions.

  • Duration:

    • The exam must be completed within 3 hours.

  • Mode:

    • The exam can be taken online via proctor format or at a PSI test center.
